The first Mother’s Home (Rumah Ibu Sabah) has opened in Sabah, Malaysia. This unique center, modeled after the Kazakhstani project, supports women in difficult life situations by providing temporary housing, along with medical, psychological, and legal assistance. In addition, the center offers training programs and employment support.
The center was established by the international foundation Mother’s Home International Foundation (MHIF), founded by entrepreneurs Aidyn Rakhimbayev and Arsen Tomsky. In Kazakhstan, Mother’s Home has been operating since 2013: Over the past 12 years, more than 10,000 children have remained with their families. Outside Kazakhstan, centers are already operating in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine. Today marks the launch in Malaysia, and in October another opening is expected in Turkey – Anne Evi (“Mother’s Home”). The opening was attended by Datuk Mariah Chong, Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development and People’s Wellbeing of Sabah: “I would like to extend my special gratitude to the Kazakhstani businessmen whose initiative and generosity laid the foundation for such a unique project. This is a true example of international partnership for the common good.” Co-founder of the project, Anar Rakhimbayeva, noted: “Compassion knows no borders, and there are no ‘other people’s children.’ A mother is a mother in every language of the world.”
The launch of the center in Malaysia reflects the values of the Ekonomi Madani national strategy and has become part of the country’s social policy.
